Dr. Kernaghan grew up in Fort Worth, TX wanting to be a Zookeeper.
After deciding to pursue a career in the veterinary field, she attended Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During her clinical year she completed externships at various exotic animal hospitals and in Tanzania. She graduated in May 2019 with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and joined Main Street as an associate veterinarian that July.
Her professional interests include high quality dentistry, exotic animal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and shelter medicine. She feels fortunate to have gained a large range of general practice dental skills from her time observing veterinary dentist Dr. Heidi Lobprise and her dental residents. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is honoring the human-animal bond no matter the species.
She and her husband care for three rescue labs (Walle, Oliver, and Mozzie) and two rescue bunnies (Mac and Lenny). She is very excited to be a part of the Main Street Veterinary Hospital team and looks forward to caring for your loved pets and helping them to have a happy, healthy, long life!
